About Chervin

A message from the President, Kevin Bauman

When I was a young boy growing up in Northern Ontario, I began crafting sleds, skis, toys, buildings – anything I could make from wood. As my passion for woodworking thrived, my skills and craftsmanship matured.

I moved to Waterloo County in 1988 and in 1990 married my wife, Cheryl. In 1991, we started our own business and called it Chervin – a combination of our first names. We built whatever anyone wanted, as long as it was made out of wood. With many satisfied customers recommending our services, the business grew and in 1994 we relocated from New Hamburg to Wellesley and hired our first employees. We soon outgrew that location as well and in 1998 we moved to Hawkesville.

We’ve been through many changes over the years, from growing and relocating, to acquiring other businesses and constantly upgrading our equipment to ensure quality and affordability. Throughout the years, we’ve remained committed to creating beautiful and functional solutions for our customers, with perfection in even the smallest details.

Chervin was built on the foundational principle of The Golden Rule, taken from Matthew 7:12: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” We have chosen to live by this principle in our daily lives, while controlling the manufacturing process and delivering products that surpass customer expectations. We do this by obsessively focusing on the details, so we get it right and our customers get exactly what they want. This end-to-end quality control ensures that our customers will call on Chervin when only the very best will do.

As a family-owned and operated business, Chervin is in a unique position to make good on its promises. Today, Chervin consists of multiple business holdings including Chervin Kitchen & Bath, Colonial Times, Artco, Vogel, and Chervin Furniture & Design. As we look to the future, we’re confident that Chervin will continue to meet the challenges of producing top-quality products for our customers, while maintaining our high standards and competitive prices. It’s our Golden Rule of service and it’s what sets us apart.

We look forward to doing business with you and invite you to come and visit us at one of our locations.
